On November 3rd of 2008 Biofriendly Corporation and the United States EPA made separate announcements to the Press regarding a consent decree settlement. While the Press Release from Biofriendly obviously covers the more positive aspects of the settlement, we have noticed that a few sources have taken the news of this settlement and painted an inaccurately negative picture.
To get a fair view of the story we would like to point interested parties toward, the official EPA Information Sheet regarding the alleged violation. This gives a pretty fair look at what happened.
There is also a balanced article from NBC News that tells both sides and gives a fairly accurate description of the story.

David Touretzky /

In Early February, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon University, named David Touretzky, published a story on the Internet repeating the exact same false and invented complaints issued to the state of Texas and the US EPA. He claimed he had a source but never stated who they were.
Since that time in Early February, Touretzky has created several sites with these same falsehoods listed above, including one on the Carnegie Mellon server. As what was written is libelous, it violated the school’s computing policy. After showing school officials what Touretzky had written, the school forced him to remove the content. To this day however, Touretzky uses this site as a “link farm” for the smear campaign on Biofriendly.

Biofriendly Corporation was accused of using an unapproved laboratory to do it’s testing of Green Plus for the State of Texas. This is untrue, the lab, Olson-Ecologic Laboratory, was and still is government approved for the tests conducted on Green Plus. This complaint was dismissed and the results of the test were approved by the State of Texas. It’s position on the list of approved labs is below.
